Meet Raghd, Swedish artist and producer from Gothenburg, and a longtime friend of the Dr. Denim family. Moving effortlessly between rap, club music, and alternative pop, Raghd’s sound is confrontational yet understated, balancing raw emotion with a sense of control. Described by DAZED as “Sweden’s post-pop underground,” she has built a growing international presence through tracks like ”Easy GO!”, ”Pressure”, and ”Kitchen”, gaining traction well beyond Sweden.

Raghd made her U.S. debut in New York during Sweden Makes Music 2026, invited by the Swedish Consulate for a special week in the city. Drifting through different corners of NYC - from late nights to spontaneous studio sessions and chance encounters - she quickly tapped into the city’s pulse. That energy carried straight onto the stage at Nublu on the Lower East Side, where she played to a packed, sold-out room, dressed up in Dr. Denim. With a raw, magnetic presence, Raghd commanded the stage and connected instantly with the crowd, turning her first-ever U.S. show into something both intimate and unforgettable.

The night marked a defining moment - not just an introduction to a new audience, but a clear signal that Raghd’s world already stretches far beyond Sweden. Her latest EP, ”Significant Value”, written and produced entirely by Raghd herself, explores themes of breakups, obsession, and self-worth. We sat down with Raghd to talk about creative freedom, the spark behind her creative process, and personal style.

Her commitment to music grew strong early on, shaped by live experiences. We asked Raghd about what inspired her to dive deeper into her music interest, and she says ”Going to concerts”. She recalls the turning point clearly: ”I just had enough of feeling that I didn't do my part of my dream, so when I was 16 I decided to find a studio and begin the work”.

Now, Raghd is constantly on the move. ”I’m currently in the middle of my spring tour that has taken me from Stockholm, all the way to New York City, and that will end in Brighton.”, she says. At the same time, she’s grounded in the creative process back home, ”I’m also working on my debut album in Stockholm, trying to translate my experiences into songs”, Raghd says.

The inspiration for her work, she says, is never far away. ”It’s everywhere if I just look closely. It lives in the everyday details - It’s in the people passing by outside my window, the way the graffiti looks on the walls of the streets, or how the conversations I have with my friends turn out.”, all of it feeds into her creativity. ”Everything sparks something in me.”, Raghd says.

Lately, that spark has been fueled by movement and connection. ”Traveling and meeting new people. Listening to their stories and what they think about different subjects.”, Raghd explains. Music, though, remains at the core of everything - always deeply woven into her life. ”Music means everything to me”, Raghd explains and adds: ”It has always been so easy to implement it in every way of life”,

For Raghd, good times are closely tied to freedom. When asked what that means in her own life, she explains that ”...it means doing whatever I please that creates a sense of freedom”. That feeling shows up in many forms - ”I love feeling free in creating, thinking, talking and to get to share all of those moments with people that contribute to that feeling”, she explains. Raghd explains that for her, a good time doesn’t necessarily need much planning at all. ”Sometimes I wake up and I choose to put on my favorite songs from 2012 and I clean, cook or just dance.” For Raghd, that small ritual sets the tone.”That’s how I know that the rest of the day is set, and that whatever I choose to do ends up being a good time”

We asked her if she has someone she looks up to or idolizes, but rather than idolizing individuals, Raghd explains that, to her, inspiration isn’t about people so much as the qualities they carry. ”I don’t Idolise people, but I look up to traits that some people carry, like resilience, patience, braveness and confidence.”, she explains.

That same mindset carries over into how she dresses and creates. ”I feel like I like to dress laid back and that most of the music I make is laid back”, she says, and adds ”but to be honest my style is just big pants with a cropped shirt/hoodie”. Above all else, she says that ”The most important part for me is to be comfortable, both in dressing and creating”.

When it comes to lessons learned along the way, Raghd’s philosophy is grounded in action. ”This might seem obvious but i feel like a lot of ideas get stuck in the verbal phase - just talking about it - and I’m a firm believer that nothing is real until you create it.” For her, doing is the way forward: ”It helps me get out of my head to go hands on and actually do every other idea I get, no matter how it turns out, at least I know how it felt, looked, sounded, etc, now.”, she says.

With Raghd, it always comes back to movement - moving through cities, ideas, sounds, and moments without overthinking them. There’s a calm confidence in the way she creates and lives, grounded in comfort, curiosity, and the belief that ideas only become real once you act on them. Whether she’s dancing around her kitchen, pulling inspiration from the street outside her window, or turning lived experiences into music, Raghd moves forward by doing. It’s about trusting the process, staying hands-on, and letting freedom lead the way - because good times aren’t just talked about, they’re created.
