Gothenburg based photographer and designer Felix Humble on photography, the art of noticing and filling an inner creative void.

Before photography, Felix's main creative outlet was music. Felix tells us that after leaving his band, he needed a new way to express himself creatively. “I felt a void and needed a creative outlet to fill this with. Since I’ve always been a rather great observer, photography came quite naturally to me.” The hobby turned occupation, and photography is now an essential part of Felix’s life. He explains “I couldn’t live without it. It’s me-time”.

When it comes to finding inspiration for his work and artistry, Felix explains that it most commonly finds him through other creatives via social media, books, movies or music. “Inspiration can truly come from anywhere or anything. Most of the time I don’t have to seek it out; it finds me.

Curios to know, we ask Felix if he think there’s a correlation between his creative field of work and the way he likes to dress, and he tells us that “I’m not sure, though I do care about what I wear—it’s definitely a way of expressing who I am, although I have yet to buy a utility vest, but I’ll surely get one in the future.”

With his signature on numerous Dr. Denim lookbooks over the years, Felix is no stranger to the brand and the catch phrase denim and good times. When asking Felix about what “good times” means to him, the answer seems obvious. “Exploring new places with a camera in hand”.
